US Payments Forum Statement on Announcements on Signature Capture Requirements

Oct. 31, 2017 – The U.S. Payments Forum believes that advanced payments technologies such as EMV chip, tokenization, biometrics and online analytics can be effective in verifying cardholders and combating fraud in-store and online. Transactions where signatures are not required at the point of sale are becoming more prevalent in the industry today.  The U.S. Payments Forum will continue to support the implementation of emerging security technologies and new payment methods for added security and convenience to the whole payments ecosystem.
